Laura and her party just look so radiant don’t they?
The venue was the stunning Merewood Hotel, which just has such a feeling of great history and wonderful views of Windermere Lake. It is always so lovely to work there. I always comment on what wonderful views I get from ‘my mobile office.’
I just love the colour of the bridesmaid dresses and flowers, it’s so fresh. To compliment the blush tones everyone had soft blush smokey eyes. We wanted to skin to gleam, which comes across really well in these pics. This is achieved with MAC STROBE CREAM as the primer, and then my all time fav highlighter MAC SOFT AND GENTLE applied using a fan brush.
If you are looking for a Makeup Artist at The Merewood Hotel, or anywhere in the Lake District/ Cumbria then please feel free to drop me a message to email@example.com – I’ll happily answer any of your queries.

So here’s what I reckon:
I love the packaging and branding. (I know I shouldn’t get sucked it by it, but I do!)
My skin is much brighter and feels fantastic after use
It completely dries up spots
It has reduced spot/ acne scarring
Fab for a deep cleanse if you wear makeup
It says on the jar use 3 times a week. So in my dreams I’d like to do that, but I’m a very busy Mum so do it about once a month!
From a young age I was fascinated by makeup and how it could enhance your looks. Although I must admit, I didn’t quite always get it right!
I remember buying a black pencil eyeliner from the makeup stall on Kendal market for 50p – and trying winged liner for the first time when I was about 12. It was NOT a great look!
Obviously my skills have come on a long way since then.. (well I hope they have!)
I thought I was share some go my before and after makeup transformations with you.
Everyone wants something different, some just want a subtle enhancement, some ladies prefer full makeup and smokey eye, some love to have their skin tone evened out, some want to look a little younger or sharper….
The key to it all, is that I listen.
I hear what you are saying and take it all onboard. If you love makeup, fab, let’s go for it, if you never wear it, then fine let’s keep things natural. My approach to makeup and makeovers is not a ‘one size fits all’ I tailor make each look and experience to each clients individual needs.
Faye got married at Leeming House Penrith in August. I love the first picture above, it’s just what you would hope a wedding morning would be. All the girls chatting, getting ready, while the hair and makeup professionals do their thing!
Faye was a relaxed bride and at her trial wanted to be very natural and subtle as she’s not a huge makeup wearer.
However on the day I did one of her bridesmaids first, with a smokey eye (using brown earthy colours) and some extra individual false lashes and Faye decided she wanted to have that too.
I think the phrase ‘smokey eye’ makes people think about the girls from ‘The Only Way is Essex’, however it’s just the name of the technique, you can do it in any colour and as subtle as you wish.
So for Faye with her fair skin and strawberry hair with bright blue eyes I used brown and gold tones, the extra lashes as to look as natural as possible but really make her eyes stand out without being too ‘made up’ don’t you think?
The other thing is, when you have makeup on with jeans and a cotton top, some people can feel quite over the top. But once the princess dress goes on, and the hair is styled and the diamonds are sparkling makeup some people feel they want more makeup.
As I always say, there’s no right or wrong.
The most important thing is for you to feel great, if that means hardly any makeup that you want to do yourself or lots of false lashes applied by mean, it’s fine AS LONG AS YOU ARE HAPPY x

Megan married Fraser in Keswick at the stunning wedding venue that is, Armathwaite Hall. She kindly sent me some of her wedding pics through recently which I thought I should share with you. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
She also sent me these beautifully kind words,
Thank you so much again. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my entire life and I couldn’t have been happier with my makeup. It was better than I dreamt of.
My bridal party looked so fantastic too. You did the most perfect job.
Thank you so so much.
To receive feedback like that means the world to me, so thank you so much Megan.
Megan had the full works – airbrush makeup, smokey eye, false lashes…. In writing that sounds like a lot doesn’t it? But take a look at her pics… she looks beautiful and natural doesn’t she? It just goes to show that makeup is all about technique, skill, knowledge and using the right products on the right person. What suits one, doesn’t always suit another.
The main things I like to achieve are:
But for me, the most important thing I can take away from Megan’s wedding is that she felt fabulous. What more could I achieve?

Roxanne, her sisters and bridesmaids were such a lovely and lively bunch, considering we had a very early start for her wedding at Abbey House Barrow. Roxanne has kindly just sent me these pics from her wedding in June, earlier this year.
All the bridal party opted for airbase, the airbrush makeup system – where the foundation is applied with a small airgun. It goes on as a fine mist, all my brides say it feels like air is being blown on their face and they can’t believe it when they see makeup there. My favourite things about using airbrush for weddings are:
You apply it in layers, so you can go as light and natural or as heavy and full coverage as you want.
It’s silicone based, which means it goes on and stays on! Perfect for weddings as it can be a long day and you want your makeup to last. Also great on hot days, as with some foundations the heat can make makeup slide off.
At the end of the day makeup is all about your preference, there is no right or wrongs. (Ok so there are a few wrongs) My point is, I will work with you to make you happy, if that means super natural makeup or a heavy smokey eye, I will suggest and offer input if you like.
Ultimately I will listen and ensure you look and most importantly feel the best and most confident person you can. For some that means extra lashes and lots of blusher, and for others it’s a slick of tinted moisturiser and lip gloss. What ever type of bride you are we will work together to make you look absolutely fabulous!
So obviously I was completely honoured when my Sister asked me to be her Maid of Honour and Makeup Artist on her wedding day, but when the day came round on October 1st – I couldn’t have been more nervous! I’m extremely experienced at what I do, but when it’s a family wedding the heat was certainly turned up.
Anyway here are some pics from the big day at Miller Howe – I think I did an alright job!
